China National Heavy Duty Truck Group, Co., Ltd. (SINOTRUK for short), which was initially founded in 1956, is honored as the cradle of China’s heavy duty truck industry. In 1960, it manufactured China’s first heavy duty truck – Huanghe branded heavy truck. In 1983, SINOTRUK, on behalf of China, introduced the STEYR heavy duty truck manufacturing technology from Austria, and “STEYR” was once the synonym of the China heavy duty truck. In 2009, SINOTRUK established a strategic cooperation with German MAN company on technology, capital, brand and market level; Facing the future, SINOTRUK looks ahead and layouts the core assemblies and components of the heavy truck engines and takes the lead in realizing the upgrading of the heavy truck products in China.
SINOTRUK is the first and the only “National heavy-duty truck engineering and technology research center” in the China auto industry. SINOTRUK has successively undertaken multiple national “863” projects and has taken the lead to set more than 20 national standards and industry standards.
In recent years, SINOTRUK has exploited the advantages of the MAN technology and the intelligent network to improve the products and provide services for the end-users. SINOTRUK takes the lead in the independent R&D for the vehicle management system “Intelligent System” in China; Based on the reliable hardware system and the strong background service system, the “Intelligent System” realizes the management
of the heavy truck logistics fleets, currently, over 150,000 customers have applied SINOTRUK “Intelligent System”. Applying the mobile internet technology, SINOTRUK was the first to launch the “Smart SINOTRUK” mobile phone application in 2015 to service the automotive aftermarket in China in order to directly solve the problems of the customers in parts purchasing, authenticity identification, repair and services, etc. It is the first mature “O2O” management system that uses the mobile internet technology in the domestic commercial vehicle industry, currently, the registered customers have accumulatively exceeded 300,000. On September 19, 2016, SINOTRUK initially released the first domestic “Intelligent truck I”. For the intelligent truck which was filled with wisdom and efforts, SINOTRUK owns the completely independent proprietary intellectual property rights. It keeps pace with the internationally advanced level and takes the lead in the domestic industry. At the end of 2017, the first domestic batch of “Intelligent truck I” which was independently developed by SINOTRUK was officially delivered to the customers and started to service the modern logistics industry. Relying on the great competency accumulated in the past six decades and the leading design philosophy,, SINOTRUK has customized for the port the world’s first L4 unmanned electric truck on April 12, 2018, this truck integrates the advanced and mature technology of intelligent network and new energy. and it has officially realized its test run at Tianjin Port.
